The Board of Directors is currently evaluating a proposal that
would convert a limited number of visitor parking spaces into
permit parking spaces as part of a broader effort to address
long-term financial needs within the Association.
The proposal is being brought forward in response to resident
concerns regarding parking availability, rising operational
costs, and the need to identify additional revenue sources
before relying more heavily on HOA dues increases or special
assessments.
Under the proposal currently being reviewed, up to five visitor
parking spaces in each of Crown Colony’s 27 buildings could
be converted to permit parking, with the possibility of
additional spaces being considered in the future based on
demand and community needs. If fully implemented,
approximately 135 of the community’s 450 visitor parking
spaces would be affected, while the majority of visitor parking
would remain available for guest use.
Proposed permit rates currently under consideration include:
– $200 per month for month-to-month permits
– $175 per month when six months are paid in advance
– $150 per month when one year is paid in advance
Revenue generated from the program would be used to help
support the Association’s financial obligations, including
reserve funding and necessary community maintenance
projects.
Crown Colony currently faces significant reserve funding
challenges, and identifying alternative revenue sources may
help reduce future reliance on dues increases and special
assessments. The Board believes it is important to explore all
available options to help protect the long-term financial health
of the Association.
No final decision has been made. Residents will receive at
least 60 days’ notice before any changes are implemented, and
additional information will be provided as the review process
continues.
Please note that this proposal would not affect any owner’s
assigned parking space.
