Recent complaints regarding speeding and failure to obey stop signs within Crown Colony have reached their highest level in recent memory. Residents have reported vehicles driving through the garages and internal streets at unsafe speeds, creating dangerous situations for pedestrians and other drivers.
Several reports describe behavior that feels more like a NASCAR event than a residential community, particularly in the garage areas. Residents have also observed multiple vehicles traveling the wrong way on the one-way section of Imperial Way and Half Moon Lane, often at speeds that make it difficult for others to safely enter, exit, or walk through the area.
In addition, vehicles have frequently been seen rolling through stop signs without coming to a full stop. This behavior puts everyone at risk. One resident recently shared that he and his toddler were only a step away from being struck by a vehicle that failed to properly stop. Incidents like this serve as a serious reminder of how quickly a moment of carelessness can tum into a tragedy.
When we pass through the gate arms at Crown Colony, we are home. This is a shared community where families walk, children play, and neighbors move about every day. We ask all residents and guests to please slow down, remain alert, and be aware of your surroundings at all times. While it is natural to feel frustration, it is important to remember that we are all neighbors who share and care about this community.
Reporting Safety Concerns –
The Board asks that any resident who observes or experiences a safety incident to contact the HOA. If it is safe to do so, photos or videos can be extremely helpful when documenting and confirming a safety violation. However, residents should always ensure they are in a safe location before attempting to record anything. Personal safety should always come first.
Residents may also contact the guard station, which operates 24 hours a day, to report incidents as they occur.
While guards may not always be able to arrive on scene immediately, all reports are logged and f orwarded to the HOA the following morning.
We also want to remind residents that you should never hesitate to call 9-1-1 if you feel a situation is urgent or dangerous. After contacting emergency services, you may also follow up with the guard station so the incident can be documented within the community.
Moving Forward –
The HOA has been attempting to address situations with courtesy calls. However, due to the increase in complaints, the association will begin formally f ollowing up with residents involved in safety violations. These cases may be brought before the Board, where the responsible party may be subject to a violation fine ofup to $100.
Crown Colony is a special place to live. By respecting stop signs, slowing down, and looking out for one another, we can ensure our community remains safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone.
